October 10th is World Mental Health Day, so it seems like a good time to highlight some recent additions to LearningGrids that focus on social and emotional learning.

We all want children to thrive in and out of school, and helping them develop a better understanding and awareness of their emotions is an important part of that. With the Daily Check-in Connect Set, children write about how they are feeling and how things are at home, in school, and with friends. The set can be used as part of a more extended feelings journal or as a quick daily check-in tool.

The Daily Check-in Chart also uses emojis to provide a fast and friendly way for children to think about how they are feeling. The chart has been designed for a morning and afternoon check-in, allowing children to reflect on daily or weekly patterns. Are mornings more difficult than afternoons? Are there certain days of the week that are better than others? Both sets can be useful for teachers to help identify children who may need extra support.
