Día de Muertos, or Day of the Dead, is a celebration of life and death and takes place on November 1st and 2nd each year in Mexico. The holiday has roots back to rituals honoring the dead in pre-Columbian Mesoamerica.
In our recent Mexico Clicker Sets on LearningGrids, we explore this tradition, as well as other cultural and geographical features of the country. The collection of resources includes Read a Book and Read It Yourself Clicker Books and a range of related speaking and writing activities.
Or you can provide students with an alternative means of expression by using the Talk Set, where they can record information about Mexico. Don’t forget that you can increase the number of recorders for each picture to allow students to record their ideas in bite size chunks. They can then listen to all their recordings on the start page – great for class presentations!
