Previously available to purchase on CD, Clicker Tales was designed to develop literacy skills through traditional stories that children love … and NOW it’s exclusively available on LearningGrids … for FREE! The stories of Jack and the Beanstalk, Cinderella and Little Red Riding Hood are now available to share and enjoy with your children. Each title has a beautifully illustrated and narrated story, as well as follow-up speaking, listening, reading and writing activities.
The on-screen books include real speech, giving reading support and helping to boost confidence and fluency. The expressive recorded voice brings the stories to life, helping children to engage with and respond to the text. Children feel comfortable with the familiar, repetitive story structure of these well-known traditional tales, making it a perfect springboard for speaking and listening activities. The activities also offer a high level of support, encouraging independence and success. Children can listen to individual words, sentences or pages and record their own voices as they practise saying keywords, retell the stories or even take on the role of a character. There are also opportunities to build confidence in writing with differentiated activities to suit a range of needs – such as simple sentence building, making their own book and retelling the story using a scaffolded framework or with Word Banks.
