High-frequency words with Clicker

October 24, 2018

It is really important that children learn how to read and spell the common words (often called high-frequency or sight words) that make up a large proportion of the words they will see and use most often in their everyday reading and writing.

Having these everyday words at hand gives children essential spelling and vocabulary prompts, which helps to promote confidence during independent writing activities.

The Clicker Word Bank Word List One A – Z is ideal for early learners, and includes words which follow regular phonics rules as well as common exceptions which contain unusual grapheme-phoneme correspondences.

Word List Two A – Z supports children as they become more confident in their independent writing. It includes words which focus on important spelling constructions, as well as those which encourage them to be more adventurous in their vocabulary choices.

These high-frequency Word Banks, including others which are more focused on topics such as Colors, Numbers, and Days of the Week, are all available on LearningGrids.
