DocsPlus Universal is here

December 9, 2020

Our award-winning literacy tool, DocsPlus, is fantastic for struggling readers and writers at the middle and high school level. We’re very excited to announce the official launch of our new licensing model: DocsPlus Universal.

Now, when you purchase DocsPlus you receive access to both DocsPlus and the DocsPlus App under the same license.

We know that schools are using a variety of devices across the curriculum. A student might write an English essay with a PC but use an iPad in a Science lesson for research. Or a History teacher might use laptops and whiteboards during a lesson, while their students use Chromebooks to complete the connected writing task. Many teachers have told us how great it would be if DocsPlus was accessible across all these devices.

By combining DocsPlus and the DocsPlus App into one umbrella package, we’ve made it much simpler for you to provide your students with the tools they need to work more independently and achieve writing success, whatever equipment they are using.

DocsPlus Universal also makes sharing resources with your students much easier. For example, perhaps you’re exploring a specific historical event and are gathering the whole class’ ideas on an interactive whiteboard using a mind map. Once the mind map is complete, it can be sent to your students’ Chromebooks and iPads as a word bank to scaffold their writing task.

Of course, we also have hundreds of ready-made word banks, writing frames and planning templates available through LearningGrids that can be quickly modified for your learners.

One of the key lessons we learned from the recent school closures was that students with literacy barriers benefitted hugely from having assistive technology available to them at home. Parents have told us that, thanks to our software, some children were able to produce pieces of writing that they could be proud of for the very first time.

With a Flexi-License, schools can provide access to DocsPlus on their students’ home devices. This gives teachers the reassurance that children who need additional reading and writing support have it at home too, for homework or if they are self-isolating.

If you would like to trial DocsPlus Universal, you can do so by completing the form on this page. This gives you free access to DocsPlus for 28 days so you can see for yourself just how much it can help your students improve their writing and increase learning enjoyment. This includes the Windows, Mac, Chromebook and iPad versions of the software.
