Clicker success in Seattle

March 21, 2018

I have recently returned from an incredible trip that took me all over the US! In speaking with customers at two national conferences and multiple school district visits, I was fascinated by the myriad ways in which our products are being adopted and used. So for my blog post this month, I wanted to share one of the stand-out stories from my travels!

Toni presenting at AT NOW!

During my time in Seattle, I heard about a high school student in Issaquah School District who is making use of Clicker 7 following a brain tumor operation last year. One of the side-effects of the operation is that her short-term memory has been affected; this was causing a lot of frustration during the writing process, particularly as her writing had been at such a high level previously.

When one of the AT Specialists at Issaquah introduced her to Clicker 7, she immediately found a huge benefit in Voice Notes. A brand new feature in Clicker 7, Voice Notes enable the embedding of up to six one-minute voice recordings into your document, each one color-coded and permanently available for playback at the top of the page as you work. Being able to ‘snapshot’ her ideas as they come to her in the planning stages of her writing has been transformative for both the quality of her writing and her self-esteem.

We hope to have a full success story from the district up on our website very soon!
