Clicker Books Activities
Each CD includes all of the following activities:
Matching activities
In the matching activities, children look for parts of a picture in a larger picture. As well as simple picture-matching activities, there are matching activities using Clicker Writer, to encourage children to write about the pictures.
Word activities
Word activities reinforce the recognition of high-frequency words, as well as their spelling. Activities with Clicker Writer enable children to click on letters to build words.
Sentence activities
In these activities, children click on words in the correct order to build a sentence. There are additional activities that reinforce punctuation skills.
Comprehension activities
Comprehension activities reinforce understanding of the story. In some of the activities, children are given questions and they either click on the correct answer, or link to a writing activity that lets them click on words to write the answer. Other activities let children retell the story.
Composition activities
In composition activities, children click on words and phrases to build their own text based on the story. The composition activities vary from book to book. In some books, children can write captions for pictures; in others, they can build a piece of poetry, write a story or compose a piece of writing about themselves.
Book making activities
A version of the book with pictures but no text enables you to write the stories with your children. You can do this on-screen, and Clicker will speak whatever you write - or you can print the screens to write a story away from the computer.
