Support for children with speech or language impairments
Focus on language structure
Use sentence building grids to teach and reinforce simple sentence structure. For learners needing additional support, use 'forced order' grids where they have to select words in the correct order from left to right.

Modelled sentence grids are another powerful way to help pupils internalise language by providing a model sentence for the pupil to look at and listen to. The model appears in a popup, and although the pupil can open the popup whenever they wish, they can only write words into their own sentence while the popup is closed.

Colour coded sentence building grids are another great way to reinforce sentence structure and the left to right convention.
You will find a large variety of sentence building grids freely available on our LearningGrids website.
