I work with young people aged 16-26 who have physical difficulties, learning difficulties or sometimes both. I use Clicker in a number of ways – both as a group teaching tool on the interactive whiteboard and as a writing-support tool for individual students. Some of my students cannot use a mouse and in these cases Clicker’s switch facilities allows them to access the same material as their classmates. Also Clicker’s ability to link grids together and the speech support (providing instant feedback) have been features in supporting my students.
"PCLP writing frames... have given
my students the ability to work
independently"I have found Clicker invaluable in supporting the students’ creation of Person-Centred Learning Plans. These documents are a collection of information about the students including their likes/dislikes and information regarding their education progress and aspirations. PCLP writing frames that I have created have given my students the ability to work independently and they have derived great satisfaction from this. Clicker has given the students a chance to work on a level playing field with their companions.
