Matching Activities
The
picture and word matching grids are presented in two formats - full
screen and recording/writing grids. This means that they can be
used in different ways on the computer. The full-screen versions
make them particularly appropriate for group work. The matching
grids can be printed out and cut up to make matching cards for table-top
activities, both at picture and word level. The sequence of pictures
in the Listen and Match activity can be printed and cut up and used
in a variety of contexts at a number of different levels.
- 2 copies can be used for matching
- The pictures can be matched to those in the printed book
- The pictures can be ordered as they appear in the book, from
memory
- A caption can be written for each picture
- A sentence can be written for each picture
- The narrative can be re-told with the sections between pictures
filled in
- The feelings of the character in the picture can be described
Any of the above ideas can be also be done as group activities,
with the pictures mounted and displayed on a flip chart.
