Making Notes
You
can use Find Out
& Write About to show how to or help children extract information
from a piece of text and make notes:
- Edit the contents of a reading page. Activate
a text box and ask children to pick out the most important facts/key
words from the first sentence
- Delete the rest of the sentence
- Work through the rest of the sentences so you
are left with a list of words
- Print out the list - children can use the notes
to fill out brief notes into extended prose

"I just thought I would let you know how much your product is appreciated! We have just purchased the Castles CD ROM in the Find Out & Write About series - it is brilliant - to find such an excellent resource for Key Stage 1 is unsusual - the differentiated levels are much appreciated. Value for money is exceptional and puts your competitors to shame. Thank you to all who have helped to produce this excellent resource - we look forward to many more titles in the series!"
