Overview
With
Find Out & Write
About, children can research and write about a subject. You
can use Find Out & Write About as non-fiction text in literacy
work, or for topic work. It links reading and writing and focuses
on reading comprehension and writing compositions. It offers a high
level of support.
It is suitable for individual and group work,
and offers differentiation as each book has two or three different
levels, or 'books', of information. These cover the same topics
with increasing levels of difficulty - so children with different
abilities can work on the same topic at a suitable level.
Book 1:
- For children in the early stages of literacy
- Small chunks of text
- Listen
- Model for writing
- Good for developing the idea of the sentence
Book 2:
- For children with some literacy skills, but who will benefit
from support
- 'Hear' button enables children to hear the text
- Children can click on individual words - so can read independently
at their own level of pace/fluency
- Can use the keyboard as well as the Clicker Grid
Book 3:
- Not just a blank page
- Structure
- Contains key vocabulary
- Minimize grid
- Keyboard
- Encourages interpretation (starters)

"I just thought I would let you know how much your product is appreciated! We have just purchased the Castles CD ROM in the Find Out & Write About series - it is brilliant - to find such an excellent resource for Key Stage 1 is unsusual - the differentiated levels are much appreciated. Value for money is exceptional and puts your competitors to shame. Thank you to all who have helped to produce this excellent resource - we look forward to many more titles in the series!"
