Clicker Success Stories

Alistair Malcolm

I teach year 6 and use Clicker with individual children, especially one particular child who is quite bright but has difficulty expressing himself in writing. It is very beneficial for him to have the opportunity to expand his ideas and then see a finished piece of work that he can be proud of. He can work independently and be supervised in the same way as the rest of the class, rather than needing constant one-to-one support. It is great for his self-esteem.

I started using Clicker by downloading some of the science resources from learninggrids.com. I used resources such as ‘Parts of a Flower’, but adapted them slightly to meet the needs of this child. The free resources were a good starting point for making my own grids.

What I really like about Clicker is the open-endedness of it – how all sorts of activities can be created, that suit any area of the curriculum.
