4 is a very useful classroom tool. I have used it across children
of all levels at Y4 and have had encouraging results, especially
with slower learning pupils who find writing difficult. With special
needs pupils I was able to set work specific to their main needs
- high frequency words and phonics. Higher ability children used
the program to compose written pieces for topic work and creative
writing as well as exploring the finer points of grammar. As a teacher,
I was able to adapt the grids for groups, targeting their needs
for that session. Once the technique for modification is mastered
it becomes a simple task. I used the program to set up concept grids
in order to assess work we had done in the previous topic. In all
I used the package in Literacy, History and Science and I can see
the possibilities for use in other subjects. This is a useful piece
of software because it is flexible and can be used across the curriculum.
Children find this easy and rewarding to use.

This
is a very versatile piece of software which can enhance teaching
and learning through the use of ICT in many areas of the curriculum...
There is a link to the Crick Software website to download further
grids relevant to any topic or activity you are undertaking. These
are a fantastic resource and cover Literacy, Numeracy and other
topic links... The images and presentation are of a high standard
and the choice of speech is good... This title can support any curriculum
area within the breadth of your imagination... I would recommend
this as an essential piece of software.

4 supports a wide range of literacy work... It helps pupils compose
work and the ability to read work back to pupils helps to place
it above ordinary book based material. The program is easy to use
and the children became familiar with it quickly... The navigation
skills that they learned when using this program were evident later
on when using other software... Aspects of the ICT attainment targets
are built into this... I found Clicker a very user friendly package.
The children thoroughly enjoyed using this title. I think the sheer
variety of work that they could produce added to their enjoyment.
