New Clicker resources
BETT 2001, Kensington, Olympia, London
The award-winning Clicker takes on exciting new dimensions at BETT
2001. New Clicker resources include more CDs in the ‘Find
Out and Write About’ series, plus a unique collection of animations
which illustrate verbs in a totally new way.
‘Clicker has children writing who have never written anything
before’ is a typical response from one of the thousands of
teachers across the world who now use Clicker in their classrooms
every day. By simply clicking a mouse, children can write with whole
words, phrases, pictures and now animations. Multimedia features,
such as the instant creation of talking books, develop reading and
writing skills.
The new Find Out and Write About series of Clicker applications
is designed to support young children beginning to do very simple
independent research. The series offers ready-made talking books
of non-fiction text. Each page of the book is linked to a Clicker
writing grid. Children can listen to the text on each page (recorded
using high quality real speech), then link directly to a writing
grid that enables them to write about the information they have
just read. Two or three levels of material are included in each
pack, allowing for differentiation. New titles at BETT include Find
Out and Write About Under the Sea, Minibeasts, Castles, Animals
and The Ancient Greeks.
Also to be released at BETT is the Clicker Animations CD –
a unique collection of original pictures for use with Clicker, which
come to life as children write with them. Clicker is the first word
processor that enables children to write with moving pictures that
allow easy discrimination between, for example, ‘run’
and ‘walk’.
