Clicker 3 - new developments
Following the success of Clicker 3 at this year’s Bett Awards,
the judges commended the way that the product continued to be developed
in response to the comments and needs of teachers.
Ideal for literacy in the classroom, Clicker 3 version 3.5 is now
available with a range of new features that make the program even
more user friendly. Simply point and click to use this program as
a writing tool – it comes complete with its own word processor.
Or, using the same basic process, access the powerful multimedia
features, including sound and pictures.
At-a-glance, the new Clicker 3 version 3.5 includes the following:
- completely new speech - The new Microsoft speech system offers
a choice of 3 voices and allows variation of speed and pitch.
The use of SAPI (the new standard engine for software speech)
means the program will work with other SAPI compliant speech engines
too, so that it can speak in other languages.
- pictures-as-you-type – With this option turned on, Clicker
looks up a picture for each word as it is typed and, if it finds
one, displays it immediately above the text. The required picture
library can be specified, so that different graphic or symbol
sets can be used.
- over 2000 new colour graphics – Our own picture library
has now been expanded to over 400 graphics, including photographs,
and new ones are added regularly, down-loadable from our website.
In addition, the 1800 most popular graphics from the Mayer-Johnson
PCS collection are also part of the package.
- support for jpeg and gif graphics – Now it’s really
easy to drop in pictures straight from a digital camera or scanner.
- support for Penfriend – This allows for integrated word
prediction. If Penfriend is installed, the predicted words can
appear directly in the Clicker grid.
