DPWH33 - How do I retrieve a backup copy of documents and PDFs?

Symptoms

Your document or PDF has corrupted and you would like to retrieve a backup copy.

Resolution

DocsPlus automatically creates a backup file for every document that is created or opened. The backup files is saved every minute to prevent any significant loss of work. DocsPlus will attempt to open the backed up file automatically.

Please take the following steps to retrieve your backup files, if the file does not automatically recover:

  1. In Windows Explorer, browse to C:\Users\[User Name]\AppData\Local\Temp\DocsPlus.
    [User Name] is the name of the person logged onto the computer.
  2. The backup files are saved in the DocsPlus folder (e.g. “autosave- ab12cd34.wdoc”, “autosave- 12ab34cd.pdf”).
  3. Copy the backup file to another folder

The backup files are stored for of 7 days before they are deleted.
