C7WH24 - I can't delete files from Clicker Explorer

Applies To

  • Clicker 7 for Windows

When I right-click on a file in Clicker Explorer, "Delete" is dimmed in the menu

"Delete" is available in the right-click menu, but when I click on it, I get a message saying the file cannot be deleted.

If Delete is dimmed, it's because you are in the Classes folder or the Safe folder. To avoid accidental deletion, files in these folders can't be deleted from Clicker Explorer. Instead, follow these steps to browse to the files in Windows Explorer and delete them from there:

  1. From the Clicker 7 ribbon at the top of the screen click Options > Program Management.
  2. The Program Management window appears, select the ‘Folder Locations’ tab.
  3. Click the path next to “Shared Clicker Files:”, then go into the Classes folder or the Safe folder to delete the file.

If you are getting an error message when you try to delete, this is because you don't have the permissions to do this. Please ask your IT Technician to browse to the Shared Clicker Files folder location to delete the files.
