CCMWH8 - How do I make cells speak when tapped?

Applies To

  • Clicker Communicator for iPad

Information

By default, tapping a cell in a Vocabulary Set will send its text to the Message Area. Once a user has built their Message, they can tap the Message Area to speak it.

If you prefer to hear each cell spoken when tapped instead, you can change this behaviour by disabling the Message Area.

Resolution

Disable the Message Area

To disable the Message Area in a Vocabulary Set:

  1. If the top toolbar isn't visible, tap the top black line and then tap the top-right Edit icon to enter Edit View.

  2. Tap Format in the bottom-left corner.

  3. On the Details tab, turn off Message Area.

  4. A message will appear. Tap Speak When Tapped.

  5. Tap Done to finish.

To change it back, repeat these steps, but turn on Message Area and tap Turn off Cell Sound.
